Aim: The tutorial aims at providing participants with basic knowledge and practical skills on how to apply strain imaging for evaluation of left ventricle function.

Topics: Evaluation of left ventricle systolic function by strain imaging in heart failure with reduced or preserved ejection fraction, cardiomyopathies, valvular heart disease and coronary artery disease.

Level: Participants are expected to have basic skills on echocardiography, but no previous experience on strain imaging is needed.

Number of participants per group: maximum 30 (two groups; one in Finnish and one in English)

Structure: Introductory lecture on basic theory, applications, and interpretation of strain; tutorial on image acquisition for strain analysis (part I, 60 minutes). Hands-on demonstration of strain analysis (part II, 60 minutes)
