PRACTICAL TUTORIAL – ECG group 1
Moderator: Kjell Nikus (FI)
Aim: to present patient cases interactively with a voting system. The tutorial aims at improving the skill of ECG interpretation of the participants, and also to show the importance of the ECG in clinical decision making.
Topics: arrhythmias, conduction disorders, structural heart disease and acute coronary syndrome
Level: the cases represent different skill levels from “easy” to “expert level” (for example nurses, medical students, fellows, cardiologists are welcome to participate). Participants will give their own assessment of ECG interpretation skill level at registration (beginner, some experience, ECG analysis done weekly, expert in some fields of ECG analysis). Every session will consist of cases from different skill levels.
Number of participants per session: maximum 30
Participants may bring their own cases (USB stick or other format) or send their case in advance by e-mail to the chairman of the tutorial (firstname.lastname@example.org)
Estimated time per case: 10 minutes
Logistics: the ECG will be presented either with 25 or 50 mm/sec recording speed (this will be mentioned separately for each case). Clinical data will also be presented. After the voting theoretic background for the ECG findings will be presented interactively (with discussion/feedback).
